We Are... Fire, EMS, Swift Water Rescue, Ice Rescue, Rope Rescue
Under 2 stations, we house 2 Engines, 3 Squads, 1 Water Tanker, 1 Grass fire trucks, 2 Off road vehicles, with the cooperation with Summit County we house Summit County Hazmat Support Truck 3856 and Summit County Swift Water/Dive Trailer, and provide 25 square miles of Fire-EMS coverage for 3,529 residents of the Village of Peninsula, Boston Township and Village of Boston Heights .
Established in 1976, we are a 35 member Department which is 24 hour Full and Part-time staffed and volunteer supported.

                                                                   Chief Dave Morehouse
The Valley Fire District lost one of their beloved chiefs Thursday September 4th 2025, Surrounded by his family, Chief Morehouse lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. He was laid to rest at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Peninsula on September 12th. Chief first joined the fire service in Peninsula in 1972, later becoming the Valley Fire District, rose through the ranks as Assistant Chief and even serving as Chief for several years. Chief was a staple in his community, there wasn't anyone that did not know who he was. Chief, you will be greatly missed! Thank You for everything Chief! We'll Take it from here!
